Stand-up Comedy in English returns to Mleczarnia December 1st!
Whether you’re a foreigner in Poland or a Pole who likes to share a laugh with foreigners, Famous* Jim Williams’ “International House of Comedy” will have you falling out of your seat with laughter! This month we’ve got a flapjack stack of comedians ready to serve you a syrup-sweet helping of humor. So, who’s on the menu?
“The Mediterranean Sensation”, Polish-Greek Comic/Actor Ιάκωβος Πιχίνσκι (Jakub Pychynsk) will kick off the evening followed by Wrocław’s native son, screenwriter for Trudne Sprawy and Dlaczego ja?, Michał Grzebieniak .
Then get ready for a three-course feast of funny from across the Atlantic ocean with The Three Americans!
Not-so-freshly squeezed from Florida, writer and in-demand voice actor Derrek Carriveau brings his whisky-warm voice and his martini-dry wit to the stage. Derrek will aim his boozy humor at everyday life to create comedy that is both acerbic and wonderfully honest.
Next, Christian A. Dumais – writer and creator of Twitter’s @DrunkHulk – brings home the bacon and proves why TIME called him “one of [their] favorite funnymen!” Drunk Hulk was recently named the #1 “Parody Twitter Account of All Time” by Heavy, and thanks to his nearly 200,000 followers, he is the third most popular Twitter feed in Poland.
Finally, for Dessert, the man with a name as American as apple pie, Jim Williams takes the stage. His Polish-language stand-up act “UWAGA! I’m Gonna’ Mówić Po Polsku” won awards at Poland’s largest comedy festivals last season. He’s appeared on Mam Talent, Kabaretowy Klub Dwojki, and Dzięki bogu już weekend. Now, Jim returns to his mother tongue to talk about life, American culture, women, and more. Using his dual powers of physical and spoken-word comedy, it’s easy to see why Wroclaw Uncut called Williams a “comedy gem.”
English teachers, English students, Expats, Erasmus students, Employees of large international companies, undercover NSA agents in Poland… Anyone and EVERYONE who enjoys comedy in English will not want to miss this show!
